Playing MP3 Files within Netscape and Mozzilla

If Netscape Navigator won’t play embedded MP3 audio files and you are running Windows 2000, or XP, try this solution. It requires Quicktime 5, or above, and some simple configuration changes within Apple Quicktime. Below are the steps to configure your system to play MP3 files within Netscape and Mozilla..

If you need to get Quicktime Player (it's free), click here.

1. Open the QuickTime Player (if you don’t have it, you can download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) Choose Edit/QuickTime Preferences

2. Select Browser Plugins

3. Click on MIME Settings and click the box in front of MP3 to put X in the box.

4. Click on OK. MP3 music for web pages should now work properly in Netscape.
