  • Predators/Prey: Fruit flies are fed on by many generalist insect predators, such as spiders.
  • Population: life span 30days
  • Interesting facts: Drosophila melanogaster flies are a widely used biological model organism. Their short lifespans and quick breeding turnover make them very useful for genetic selection experiments.
