Ugly Bug Wallpaper 2008

Genus: Photuris, Family: Lampyridae, Order: Coleoptera (Firefly or Lightning bug) These bugs are found in temperate and tropical environments around the world and display a bioluminescent glow at night to attract mates. The enzyme luciferase causes a light emitting reaction in the bug’s abdomen creating a greenish glow. All fireflies glow when they are in their larvae stage. One of the 2008 Ugly Bug Contestants.
