Mrs. White

Mrs. White

Genus: Bostrichidae

Species: Apatides fortis

This beetle is also known as a powder-post beetle, it may be named because these guys will turn your wood into powder (not quite, but they are surely destructive). It has been advised to cut your fire wood at certain times of the year to avoid them... So next time your parents ask you to go outside and chop wood, you'll have a better explanation for why you can't.
