Orientation

It's your first day as Dr. Biology's intern. The lab is full of microscopes, chemicals, glassware, and books - exactly what you thought the lab would look like. There seem to be endless possibilities for learning about biology.

Excited, you wonder, "Which microscope will I get to use? Will I be mixing chemicals and growing cell cultures?"

Dr. Biology and her team enter the lab and introduce themselves.

Welcome to the lab, we're happy to have you on the team! We specialize in research on cell size and cancer. Why don’t you get familiar with your computer? It is the instrument you will use the most.

Let me introduce you to the members of our team. Roberto is my newest research assistant. Maya is a researcher who specializes in cell mutations and cancer. Julian is an expert in creating scientific computer models to help with research.

Before you dive into experiments and research, you need to learn some basics. The team will help you learn about cell sizes and the NC ratio. Then, I'll put your knowledge to the test to see how well you've learned the material. Don't worry if you have to try it a few times.

When you pass, you will graduate from being an intern to being a researcher on our team. Then you can begin your own research on cells and cancer!

Are you ready to begin training?
