Most organisms have just one set of DNA. So why would some scientists want to work with or create organisms that have two sets of DNA?

You are at the dinner table and you can't wait to devour the cooked piece of sausage on your plate. You take your first bite and you feel pure joy. The meat is as juicy and delicious as always. What is different, however, is that this meat did not come from a live animal, but was instead custom made for you in a lab! One of the most recent innovations in tissue culture is tissue-cultured meat. This meat is artificially grown in the lab using cells from animals.

Cancer is a disease that affects a lot of  people. But there are still many things that scientists don’t understand about it. The goal of this experiment was to see how stem cells are involved with the growth and spread of cancer cells.

Can Parts of the Brain Grow Back?

Scientists used to think that nerve cells were incapable of regeneration if they were damaged.  This means that when you are born, you would have all the neurons that you would ever have in your lifetake care of them because if they die they don't come back.
