Cracking CRISPR

The DNA found in most of your cells plays a huge role in making you who you are... and it's not just you - this is the same for every living thing. DNA helps control how your body grows and works, but it can also be the cause of many diseases that affect your body.

With DNA being the key to life, it's no wonder that we've been working to crack the code. For many years, with the tool CRISPR Cas9, we've been able to efficiently edit DNA to have specific changes that we want. This has allowed us to do so much, from making vegetables taste better to helping our immune system fight off diseases.

CRISPR is a tool for today and tomorrow, so understanding how it works will be a helpful tool in anyone's toolbelt. Learn about DNA basics, CRISPR Cas-9, and other tools that are used to edit genes (like Next Gen Sequencing!) by playing Cracking CRISPR.
