Keeping science education free for everyone

Ask A Biologist is a free, trusted source of science learning tools for students, teachers, parents, and curious minds of all ages. Every year, over 4 million people across the globe explore our games, stories, lessons, podcasts, and virtual tours. For the last 28 years, we’ve worked closely with teachers and professors to create tools that truly support learning. Creating these resources takes time, expertise, and creativity… and offering them for free is costly. Here’s how you can help us continue to bring biology to life for our learners:

Fund new resources

 Spread the word

Get involved

Donate

Your support helps us create fun new educational resources that spark curiosity and that build science, reading, and analytical skills. Educational budgets are very limited right now, and we need your help to bridge the funding gaps. Every donation, no matter the size, supports our mission and impact. Your donation will help us build interactive games, VR experiences, stories, lessons, and more. If you’re a student who wants to donate - that’s great! You may need to check with a parent or guardian before you donate.

 Share

Can’t donate? You can still help in meaningful ways! Spreading the word is a great way to support us. Share your favorite game, tour collection, activity, or story to help us reach more learners. Most of our pages have social media buttons (at the bottom of the gold box) that help make sharing easy.

Volunteer

If you have a background or strong interest in biology, we’d love for you to get involved! Volunteers often help us create stories and illustrations, answer questions from visitors, or review content. Volunteers with biology degrees are welcome, but we also have opportunities for other passionate learners who want to get involved. Artists, animators, writers, and aspiring biologists are all good fits for our volunteer program.

Thank you!

Donate, share, or volunteer to help us make science exciting and accessible for everyone. Ask A Biologist has been built with donations, grants, and the work of our volunteers – we wouldn’t be here without your help.
